John Dewey says the purpose of education is
self-realization.
Like Plato: Everything needed for the full development
and progress of the body and soul is included in the purpose of education.
According to Plato's teacher Socrates: The purpose of
education is to destroy lies and to discover the truth.
Aristotle says: The real purpose of education is to
attain happiness through the sacred activities permitted by religious
discipline.
According to educationist John Locke, the purpose of
education will be to master the principles of maintaining a healthy mind in a
healthy body.
The famous educator Herbert says: The purpose of
education will be the full development of the child's potential and affection
and the expression of his moral character.
According to Froebel, a prominent educator who invented
the kindergarten method: The purpose of education will be to realize a
beautiful, believable and holy life.
According to Comenius: The overall development of the
child should be the purpose of education. And the ultimate goal of man will be
to attain happiness in the presence of the Creator.
Parker says: The purpose of education will be to develop
the qualities that the student has come to this world for the self-expression
of a full human being.
According to Jean-Jacques Rousseau: The purpose of
education is to develop good habits.
Bartrand Russell comments:
....... The education system we must aim at producing in
the future is one that gives every boy and girl an opportunity for the best
that exists.
Sir Persian says: The purpose of education is: to build
character, to prepare for a full life, and to build a good body and a good
mind.
Dr. Hasan Zaman says: The purpose of education is to
infuse life-giving energy in the pursuit of a noble life.
According to Dr. Khurshid Ahmed: The purpose of education
should be to create good citizens on the basis of one's own culture and ideals
......... and to preserve and develop the religion and culture of the nation.
According to Allama Iqbal: The purpose of education
should be to make a full-fledged Muslim.
The famous philosopher and Islamic thinker Syed Maududi (RA) said:
Man does not only see with his eyes, behind it is his active mind and brain. He has a point of view and opinion. He has a purpose and goal in life. He has a process of thinking about problems. What man sees, hears, and knows, he adapts to his own inner basic thoughts and ideas of meditation. Then his way of life was formed on the basis of those thoughts and ideas. This way of life is culture. A nation that has a distinct culture, beliefs, and goals and those who have their own way of life must uphold their unique culture, beliefs, motives, goals, and way of life and make it worthy of its development. And they have to build their education system with that objective in mind
On November 20, 1979, the UN General Assembly unanimously
adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child. It has fifty-four
paragraphs. Article 28 Document to ensure children's education. The goal of
education is described in Article 29/1. The paragraph is as follows:
The goal of education
1. The Partner States agree that the goal is to educate
children.
A. Full development of the child's personality, intellect, and mental and physical abilities;
B. Develop respect for human rights and fundamental
rights and the principles enshrined in the United Nations:
C. The child's parents develop a respect for his or her
own cultural identity, language and values, his or her homeland and other
civilizations:
D. Compromise, peace, tolerance, gender equality and the
spirit of friendship between all peoples, ethnic, national and religious groups
and indigenous peoples
